Additional Information

SSMP reports both acres that have been treated for interim dust suppression as well as acres where vegetation enhancement activities of planting/seeding and irrigating are complete. Interim dust suppression acres may be converted to vegetation complete or to fish and wildlife habitat acres. For a list of converted acres by project see the Converted Acres page.

Reporting Guidance

Critical Definitions

Interim Dust Suppression acres are immediate and ongoing dust suppression. These acres may undergo additional treatments such as vegetation enhancement planting/seeding and irrigation or be flooded to become fish and wildlife habitat acres.

Dust Suppression Completed acres are considered complete when vegetation enhancement is complete (when site is planted and site has irrigation).

Project Reporting Instructions

When reporting acres, if any previously reported interim dust suppression acreage has been converted to vegetation enhancement or fish and wildlife habitat, those acres should be reported as Converted Acres including what category the acres were converted to.
