North Lake Project Planning Area
Planning/Design
The North Lake Project Planning Area is being proposed as aquatic habitat that encompasses the northern end of the Salton Sea. The southwest boundary would be at Desert Shores, and it is planned to consist of aquatic ponds of varying depths, wetland habitat and connect to North Lake Alt H and the North Lake Pilot Demonstration Project. The North Lake Project Planning Area is intended to wrap around the northern edge of the Sea to the eastern boundary of the Salton Sea Recreation Area. This project is conceptual; some survey work has begun within the Planning Area footprint. Engineering and resource needs assessments have not been completed.
